Patent leather shoes
• Store your shoes in their pouch to protect them
(from humidity, heat, dust, light, etc.)
• Let patent leather breathes (never leave a pair in a box
for more than a year)
• If you do not have a pouch, store your shoes
by color (to avoid two different colors being
in contact) and by type of material
• To maintain the leather, use a soft cloth
• Use special patent-leather oils to restore the shine of your shoes
Matte leather shoes
• Store your shoes in their pouch to protect them
(from humidity, heat, dust, light, etc.)
• Matte leather is given an opaque film when it is made.
There is no need to alter it in the first weeks you have your shoes.
• To maintain the leather, use a soft cloth or a dry brush with fine, synthetic bristles.
• Hydrate the leather at least once a year with colorless wax, depending on how often you wear the shoes.
• Don’t hesitate to weatherproof your shoes to protect them from the rain and splashes.

Suede leather shoes
• Store your shoes in their pouch to protect them
(from humidity, heat, dust, light, etc.)
• Weatherproof your shoes immediately, and redo,
this once a month during rainy seasons.
• Use a dry brush to remove dust, and, ideally,
clean the leather after each wear.
Resoling
• The soles of Maison Ernest’s shoes are all made of leather.
Wear from the use of the leather is completely normal and is in no way a manufacturing defect. We recommend that you have a skid placed on the bottom of the shoe by a cobbler after the first few times you wear it.
