1904 - The origins
Paris, 1904. A stone's throw from the Moulin Rouge, Ernest Chausseur opened his boutique and imposed a bold style.
In the bustle of Pigalle, between cabaret dancers and fashion figures, a unique signature was born: shoes with an assertive character, designed to enhance every step.
Thus begins the story of a Parisian House dedicated to free and daring women.

The 20s - Seduction in motion
The Années Folles were in full swing and Paris was intoxicated with freedom. Mistinguett and Josephine Baker electrified the stage, all in Ernest's shoes.
The heels rise and so do the eyes: more than a shoe, an object of desire.
The Ernest woman asserts herself, takes to the skies and conquers the city with audacity and sensuality.

The '20s
1926. On stage, Mistinguett set the Moulin Rouge alight, rivalling Josephine Baker who electrified the Folies Bergères.
But when night falls, they all come together at Place Blanche, for a stroll along 75 boulevard de Clichy...

The 1950s - A new era
On the eve of her half-century, Ernest's daughter Jeanine takes over the running of the company.
She simplifies the name: ERNEST.
A visionary, she opens a new chapter, combining tradition and modernity. Already, the creations reveal the House's DNA: signature heels that redefine femininity, from the most everyday to the most spectacular.

The 1960s - Universal momentum
Ernest catalogs travel from Paris to all over the world.
Every woman, every culture, shares the same aspiration: freedom.
A universal figure was born: the Ernest Woman, embodying audacity, elegance and independence.

The 1970s - The photographed icon
Artists seize upon the Ernest universe. Helmut Newton immortalized the Elysée pump and its vertiginous 14 cm heel, making it a symbol of sensuality and affirmation.
The Ernest heel has become a legend, the ally of all women who dare to reinvent themselves.

The 1980s - Fashion and daring
Paris lives by night, and Ernest shines at the feet of celebrities.
This was the era of the first artistic collaborations. Jean Paul Gaultier, fascinated by Ernest's style, signed an iconic model with the House: the GO pump, now timeless.
A unique creative bond is born between the House and the couturier, cementing audacity as a common language.

The years 1990-2000 - Lights and scenes
From Blanca Li's shows to Karl Lagerfeld's photos, Ernest crosses eras and makes his mark on the biggest stages.
Fashion, dance, performance: the Ernest shoe becomes an actor in its own right, always faithful to its mission - to sublimate femininity through the heel.

The 2010s - Parisian Renaissance
In 2015, the company reverted to its original name and became Maison Ernest.
Free and unconventional, it asserts its Parisian heritage in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
In 2017, the House innovated once again by inventing the heel jewel, an exclusive creation that elevates the shoe to the status of a jewel.

The 2020s - A vision reinvented
In 2024, Maison Ernest unveils a creative, contemporary and bold new identity, true to its heritage.
The signature 55 mm heel embodies a liberated femininity: a perfect balance between comfort and sensuality, designed to accompany women day and night.
Today, Maison Ernest celebrates the diversity, empowerment and freedom of women, with exceptional craftsmanship that transcends time.
