Interview guide

Every Maison Ernest shoe is made with exceptional leathers and materials. To preserve their beauty and comfort, we invite you to follow these simple recommendations, conceived as true care rituals.

Patent leather shoes

  • Keep your shoes in their Maison Ernest pouch to protect them from humidity, heat, light and dust.
  • Let patent leather breathe: avoid keeping your shoes closed in their box for more than a year.
  • If you don't have a pouch, arrange your pairs by color and material to avoid transfers.
  • Gently clean your shoes with a soft cloth.
  • To revive their shine, apply a special patent leather oil from time to time.

Matte leather shoes

  • Protect your shoes in their pouch to preserve their shine.
  • Matt leather is naturally endowed with a protective greasy film: there's no need to intervene in the first few weeks after purchase.
  • For routine maintenance, use a soft cloth or a dry brush with fine bristles.
  • Moisturize leather once a year (or more often if used frequently) with a colorless wax.
  • To protect against rain and humidity, we recommend using a suitable waterproofing spray.

Suede leather shoes

  • Keep your shoes in their protective pouch.
  • Waterproof them as soon as they are worn for the first time, then repeat the operation once a month in wet weather.
  • After each use, dust with a dry brush specifically designed for velvet.

Shoe repair

Maison Ernest soles are made entirely of leather, a noble, living material.

Leather wear is natural and not a manufacturing defect.

To prolong their life, we recommend that you have a protective shoe fitted by a reputable shoemaker after your first few uses.
